Phoebe

UPDATE 2-7-24: Phoebe is becoming more comfortable in her new surroundings and is wanting to play. She has learned to use a doggy door and does really well in the house.

Unbelievable that this sweetheart was picked up as a stray. Phoebe is a well-mannered young female that we estimate to be about 3 years old and she has a beautiful long TAIL! She is also quite long and lean, but we do feel she is a purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Just remember - Purebred doesn't mean well-bred, but she is a beautiful sable corgi no matter what.

Phoebe tailShe is a bit high-strung/nervous and that is why we are hoping to get her placed as soon as we can, so she can get settled and become more comfortable quicker. Because she is a bit nervous, we do not want to place her in a home with young children. She also does not do well with other dogs. UPDATE ON OTHER DOGS: She has become more comfortable with a non-dominant male. She needs time and space.

We do not know about cats. She loves people however after slow introductions.

Phoebe is well house-trained. She knows "sit," takes treats nicely; does pretty well on a leash and will go outside to do her business immediately. She is also crate-trained. She would do best with an experienced owner as she can get "snippy," if she is not sure what you're doing, such as trying to leash her or pick her up too quickly. Slow and easy goes a longs way for this beautiful girl. As Phoebe has become more comfortable in her foster home, she has learned to enjoy being outside in a fenced yard more and more.  She loves to go for walks but she is not a dog for a dog park.
