Minnie

This beautiful girl is Minnie and she is a hoot!

Minnie's owner surrendered her to CCK because there were babies in the house and she was not doing well with them. Minnie was also spending a lot of time home alone without getting walked and didn't have a fenced yard. Minnie is about 6 1/2 years old and very typical female corgi: bossy, large and in charge! She is currently in a foster home with an older, gentle Great Dane and a cat. She is "tolerating" both. What Minnie loves is attention, going for walks and more attention asnd of course eating. She came to us quite obese (40 lbs) and not spayed. She has been spayed and is currently on a weight reduction program with less food and more exercise. She also had her teeth cleaned. Unfortunately, Minnie's previous owner kept her shaved down to the skin. That will NOT happen to her again unless medically necessary. It will take some time for her coat to grow out.

We feel Minnie would do best in a home as an only dog but she would probably do ok with a dog her size that would not challenge her and maybe a cat. A fenced yard is a must for this girl who has not had one for a few years now. She deserves to roam about off-leash and chase squirrels. She also wants someone who will take her on daily walks too because that is what she is used to. No children under age 12 please.

Minnie's adoption fee is $300. Interested persons should submit an application through this website for consideration. She will be ready for her new home after Feb. 1.
