ADOPTION PENDING....
09/09/12: Emmy has turned into a typical female corgi. A little bossy terror. She has a demanding way about her when she wants your attention. She is coming around but we think she will never be a typical, bouncy, outgoing corgi. But she is great in all other ways. She has changed foster homes & is now with 4 other older corgis and doing fine. She has learned to go up and down the stairs & is doing much better on her potty training. All of her testing has come back negative, which is good but we still don't have a definite answer.
This is Emmy. She came from a breeding facility where she didn't "make the cut" to be sold, so her breeder gave her to rescue. Emmy is about 6 months old. She is quite shy and easily overwhelmed with this whole big new world. It may just be her personality. Emmy has a little bit of bad luck as she became pretty ill shortly after arrival in Corgi Connection. The vets believe she has some form of a tick-borne illness. The good new is she is responding to antibiotics and seems to be bouncing back. Emmy is doing very well in foster care where there is 1 other puppy, most likely a sibling and 2 older dogs, a cat and chickens! She loves to take her time exploring the back yard and following the senior resident corgi, Jake, as he is the security guard! She is not considered house-trained at this point but does do well in a kennel for short periods of time. Emmy has been spayed, is up to date on vaccinations; on heartworm preventative; flea/tick prevenative (we don't know if she was before we got her); and she is micro-chipped. Emmy is a very special girl and needs a very special home. One that will have plenty of patience and love to give her as she learns how to be a corgi. Because she is timid we do not recommend a home with children as we believe it would be too stressful on her. Emmy's adoption fee is $275 to help defray veterinary costs.
